Summer is here, and it is getting hot! I don’t know about you, but for me, summers are all about cold, refreshing, and detoxifying smoothies!
So, today I’ve lined up three fast and easy smoothie recipes that are packed with nutrients and antioxidants that can help your body naturally detox, while supporting digestion and gut health, as well as help reduce bloating.
Smoothies are an easy way to incorporate more fresh fruits and vegetables into your daily diet. Just remember to use fresh and organic ingredients in order to avoid any added sugars and environmental toxins.
You can enjoy these for breakfast, or you can even have them as a midday snack! All three are delicious, highly nutritious and incredibly easy to prepare - and best of all, they're all vegan!
So, let’s get started!
1. Green Detoxifying Machine
When it comes to refreshing smoothies, this is probably one of my favorites. It’s citrusy, refreshing, and packed with fiber and antioxidants. It is also dairy free, which is an added bonus.
Parsley is the star of the show here. You can use either Italian or curly parsley; both will provide 100% of your recommended vitamin A and vitamin K intake, and 50% of your vitamin C intake. Vitamin C is essential for removing toxins from the body and also protects your cells from tissue damage. Parsley also boasts antibacterial benefits and boosts bone health too!
Additionally, lemon contains loads of vitamin C for detoxification. Also, chia seeds contain tons of antioxidants and healthy fiber to help you eliminate toxins more easily.
Read on for the full recipe.

- 1 tablespoon coconut nectar, agave, or any sweetener you like
Optional:
- 2 scoops plant-based vanilla protein powder or collagen peptides powder, if you are replacing a meal

- Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend for 1 minute or until thick and smooth.
- Enjoy!
To serve:
Transfer to a glass and serve immediately.
2. CLACK (Celery Lemon Apple Carrot Kale) Smoothie
This one is easy to remember because the name also works as a grocery list for when you’re out buying ingredients! Just don’t forget the lemon to give it that refreshing, citrusy kick.
This smoothie is perfect for digestion and detoxification. All of the ingredients are naturally packed with fiber to aid in digestion. Celery, lemon, and kale can help remove toxic metals from your body and reduce inflammation. Carrots help with weight loss and contain carotenoids (a type of antioxidant that protects you from disease and boosts your immunity).
These ingredients are also ultra-hydrating, meaning that your body will stay healthy even while eliminating toxins.
Read on for the recipe.
Ingredients:
- Juice of ¼ lemon
- ½ cup of cored, chopped green apple

3. Tropical Detox Me Smoothie
This smoothie is a tropical dream. It contains bananas, which are full of potassium and soluble fiber to help with digestion and reducing inflammation. It also has pineapple, a fruit full of flavonoids and phenolic acids, which are two kinds of antioxidants that can help remove nasty toxins in the body. We’ve added basil too, which helps with oxidative stress and decreases your risk for health conditions like heart disease and diabetes. Orange juice contains vitamin C to help push toxins out of the body. Finally, kale, a superstar of the cruciferous family, helps to reduce inflammation and reduces the risk of developing cancer. Mango, apple, vanilla, and coconut cream help turn this smoothie into a delicious treat!
Give it a try using the recipe below.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of peeled, chopped pineapple
- ½ cup of peeled, cored mango
- ½ cup of cored, chopped green apple
