My name is Kevin Smith, and I’m a Certified Nutritionist, Certified Personal Trainer, Classically Trained Chef. I studied at De Montfort University, where I earned a degree in Food Sciences and Culinary. In the beginning I was just trying to heal myself. After almost twenty years of operating food companies and opening restaurants, the lifestyle had damaged my body and health. I remembered the Lifestyle I had left in the farmlands of England where I grew up. I realized that what I was going to put into my body and how I treated it that would give me the life I desired.

I started to read about nutrition and healing the body/mind with nutrition. I was hooked! I read books and thousands of pages of Nutritional Science Papers. As I started applying all of this new information to my life, I started to experience a miraculous change. In just a few short months I had lost 80 pounds, all my ailments were gone, and at almost 40 years old I was in the best shape of my life. What happened next was a life changer as I found myself besieged by friends and associates that had seen my change, and that desperately wanted help with their own health. I decided to take my journey back to school to get my Clinical Nutritionist Certification.

I opened a Nutritional Clinic in Los Angeles which I operate with my lovely wife (She’s also a Nutritionist). We teach people how to get back to how we used to eat and live. Supplements are a vital part of the process in our nutrient deprived modern world. With a passion for exercise and sports I have also increased my knowledge and skillset by completing various Personal Trainer certifications over the years.

Expert Advice
The absolute best way to maintain high energy levels is to eat a balanced, healthy diet with lots of vegetables, fruits, and lean protein. But supplementing with certain vitamins can be beneficial in helping you keep your energy levels up without the jitters and crash that comes with coffee or energy drinks. I recommend Vitamin B12, Ashwagandha, Iron, and CoQ10. 2x4 Heart Health™ and 2x4 Natural Energy™ are great products for helping your body maintain high energy levels naturally.

If you're unsure what supplement regimen you should be on, it's important to start by discussing it with your primary healthcare practitioner or a certified nutritionist. Working with a professional nutritionist will allow you to tackle all your ailments and be able to help you focus on preventative care.

There are many reasons why someone can experience digestive issues, many of which could require further discussion and testing with your primary healthcare practitioner. Some of the most common digestive conditions include Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), chronic diarrhea or constipation, Gastroenteritis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, ulcers, and hemorrhoid. If you experience difficulty with your digestion on a regular basis, contact your doctor to rule out some of these possibilities.

I have two recommendations for anyone looking to boost their performance while exercising. The first is to drink more water! You would be amazed at how many people go into their workouts dehydrated, and your body suffers for it! If you're working up a sweat and aren't periodically taking breaks to drink water, your workout will feel harder, you'll reduce your performance, and your body won't be able to recover as well afterwards. The second recommendation is to get better sleep at night! If you aren't sleeping well, you won't be able to perform as well, and you severely limit your body's ability to recover properly. Our bodies primarily use the time that we're sleeping to recover from the strenuous activity of the day.

Recovery nutrition is a term used to describe the kind of food an athlete eats after a training session, rigorous workout, or performance. If you exercise regularly, what you eat after your workout is often just as important as what activity you are performing. Your body requires recovery time just like it requires activity.

Some of the most essential nutrients that men need include Vitamin D, Folate, Calcium, Potassium, Vitamin A, Magnesium, and Zinc. These vitamins together help to build and repair muscle, aid in the maintenance of a strong immune system, boost the body's red blood cell production, maintain good bone and nerve health, and help to prevent sperm abnormalities and prostate issues.

2x4 Men's Multi™ is liposomal, meaning your body absorbs it within minutes and is much more bioavailable than traditional multivitamins. Plus, this formulation has been specifically developed with all the vitamins and minerals mens' bodies require to boost vitality and strength while optimizing nerve and organ function.

If you're brand new to supplements I recommend starting small with a basic multivitamin solution that can help you feel and look your very best each day. Once you've given your body time to adapt to your multivitamin, then you can begin to stack additional vitamins and minerals according to your specific nutritional deficiencies or priorities.

My advice is to moderate your supplements. Don't take everything just because you feel like it- oversupplementing is a real thing, and you need to understand what nutrients your body is actually in need of, rather than just taking everything in the hopes it will improve your overall health. Make sure you understand what issues you're actually facing and what your health conerns are, then go from there. If you know you aren't getting enough sun for example, then incorporate a Vitamin D supplement. If you get sick often, then try 2x4 Immune Strength™, but if you just want to ensure you're getting all the general nutrients your body needs, then consider a multivitamin. Of course if you're not sure what to take or how to address your specific health concerns, you can always take our quiz and find out - link to quiz

I love just mixing my vitamins together in a green breakfast smoothie. I make my smoothie every morning anyway, and just stir in the vitamins after. My favorite recipe is spinach, banana, mango, chia seeds, oat milk, and my vitamins (but of course you can make anything)
